Birdbuddy, a nature technology company, has announced Birdbuddy Nook and Birdbuddy Home, its next generation of AI-powered smart bird feeders. The two feeders will launch on October 22, 2026. Nook starts at $99 for the non-solar model and is designed for first-time birdwatchers and smaller outdoor spaces. Home is Birdbuddy’s new flagship feeder, with a six-cup seed reservoir, dual integrated solar panels, and IP67-rated weatherproof construction.
A Compact Nook
Birdbuddy Nook has a 2K HDR camera with a 135-degree wide field of view, instant wake-up, continuous capture, and AI-powered species recognition through the Birdbuddy app. Users can position it in portrait or landscape orientation, while its 3.8-cup seed reservoir supports everyday use. An optional solar roof provides flexible charging and reduced maintenance.
Franci Zidar, CEO and Co-Founder at Birdbuddy, said:
“We’ve always believed that connecting with nature should be something everyone can enjoy, but we also know that price can be a barrier for people who are just getting started. Nook is our first product under $100, and that’s a big milestone for us. We wanted to create something that makes it easy for someone to give Birdbuddy a try, whether they’re curious about the birds in their backyard or looking for a gift that feels a little more meaningful. It’s about making that first connection with nature as simple and accessible as possible.”
A Larger Home Feeder
Birdbuddy Home also uses a 2K HDR camera and a 135-degree field of view, with enhanced action clarity, instant wake-up, and continuous capture. Its built-in perch extender, dual-band Wi-Fi, solar panels, and larger seed reservoir are designed to reduce refills and manual charging.
Both feeders connect to the Birdbuddy app, where users can receive bird visit notifications, view close-up photos and videos, and discover more about nearby wildlife. Home also offers AI-powered species recognition and fast livestream access through the app.
